My Artistic Affirmation

I am a multifaceted creative
with infinite outlets
Soldering fragments of my self
into each purl.

Sometimes I create to
Mend my Mind,
Bathe my Body, 
Strengthen my Soul,
Sometimes to inspire another’s.
Most times to project my love and gratitude.

My world is my stage
Mastering the arts
From a beginner’s mind
Weaving them together
So that they may sing in harmony.

The more I aspire for perfection,
postpone action, or resist It’s pull
The more It will pin me down
Stripping me of what was never meant to be
Directing me to my destiny
For learning, creating, and evolving
Are my life support.

After collecting and connecting,
I let it flow
Imperfectly
In between the silences.

I create because I must.
In the process, I trust.
